Just days before the decennial of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, New York resident Brian August launched a free new smartphone app that sketches the outline of the Twin Towers when you point your phone in the direction of Lower Manhattan. The app determines your distance from the World Trade Center site, helps orient your phone to a point where the towers would have been visible, and draws a silhouette of the towers. After taking a photo, users can upload images to August’s website, 110stories.com, and share their memories with the world.
