Gallery: 16 Well-Traveled Shipping Con...
When citizens discovered that Australia intended to use shipping containers for prison space, they were outraged.
With only 780 square meters to work with, the Group 8 team had to be creative. So they stacked the shipping containers under the 9m high building to add an additional 200 square meters to their overall space. Instead of scraping down the shipping containers, the architects instead chose to leave them as is, at least on the outside, lending a pile of character to an otherwise bland space.
