2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid: The Most Fuel-Efficient Luxury Sedan

Ford has a great thing going with the Fusion Hybrid [5], so they decided to take it one step further and create the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. Essentially a Fusion Hybrid with Lincoln luxury amenities, the Lincoln MKZ has entered the market with a bang by taking the title of the most fuel-efficient luxury hybrid [6] from the Lexus HS 250h.

Rated at 41 mpg city, 36 highway and 39 mpg combined, the MKZ Hybrid beats out the four-door Lexus by 4 mpg, even though the Lincoln is a much bigger car. The car is slightly more powerful too, producing 191 horsepower from a parallel hybrid powertrain [8].
The base car offers buyers a high-tech Sync system [9], which has a LCD touch-screen interface for running the entertainment system, climate control options and Bluetooth hands-free calling. The car also has leather seats as a standard option, but an additional $3,595 will get you a navigation package that has additional features like a blind-spot awareness system and a rear-view camera.
The car starts at $34,300 (which isn’t very expensive for a luxury car), but given its similarity to the Ford Fusion, we’re wondering if the car provides enough added value to justify the $6,000 price bump.
