We have all kinds of stats on all kinds of &#039;extreme weather&#039;, but you won&#039;t define and enumerate the events, which is the way to show if extreme event are increasing or decreasing over time.  This is unscientific marketing - attempting to use disasters and people&#039;s tendency to personalize them to show something is happening that isn&#039;t happening.  The weather is pretty much the same as it&#039;s been since we started recording it.</description>
