The future of the Lincoln ^[4] brand is here with the introduction of the all-new 2013 Lincoln MKZ ^[5] hybrid sedan. Lincoln originally unveiled the new MKZ at the 2012 New York Auto Show ^[6] in April, and it just announced pricing for the vehicle – it’s set to hit the streets this fall with a price tag starting at $36,800, and the best part is that the MKZ Hybrid ^[5] starts at the same price point as the base MKZ.

“The new MKZ and MKZ Hybrid are proof of our commitment to reinvent the Lincoln brand for a new generation of Lincoln ^[4] customers,” said Jim Farley, group vice president, Global Marketing, Sales and Service. Buyers can choose between three powertrains for the new MKZ – a 240 hp 2.0L four-cylinder, a 300 hp 3.7L V6, and a 188-hp hybrid system that pairs a 2.0L four-cylinder with a 70-kilowatt electric motor ^[7].

The 2013 MKZ Hybrid ^[5] can travel up to 62 mph in full electric mode and it is expected to retain its title as the most fuel efficient ^[8] premium midsize sedan with a 41 city mpg / 36 highway mpg rating. Exclusive to the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid ^[9] is a SmartGauge with EcoGuide. This instrument cluster coaches drivers to become more fuel-efficient, creating visual rewards in the form of the growth of virtual flowers on the system’s right-most screen for the driver’s efforts to operate the car in a fuel-efficient manner on a long-term, day-to-day basis.

“The all-new Lincoln MKZ represents a new day for Lincoln ^[4] and we consider it a worthy new calling card for a reinvented brand,” said Farley.
