Gardening just entered the 21st century – a team of students at the University of Maribor in Slovenia developed an innovative 3D printer that can create objects out of living grass! Maja Petek, Tina Zidanšek, Urška Skaza, Danica Rženičnik and Simon Tržan worked with assistant professor Dušan Zidar to develop “Tiskaj ZELENO” (Print GREEN), which links art, nature and technology. The device prints with a mixture of soil, water and grass seeds, so the printed designs sprout and turn green over time.
