This week, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced a $4.9 billion plan designed to protect NYC transportation infrastructure from future superstorms and extreme weather. Some of the precautions outlined in the project include protecting subway yards and bus depots from flooding, sealing entrances to subway tunnels and ventilation plants, and mitigating flood risks at various vulnerable sites.
