Gallery: ‘A Better World By Design’ Conference Kicks Off This Friday!

Check out A Better World by Design October 1st – 3rd!

We’re thrilled to announce that the third annual Better World by Design conference is coming up at the start of October! Exclusively organized and hosted by the students of Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design, this three-day internationally acclaimed conference held in Providence, Rhode Island, focuses on building a better, more sustainable global community. Each year dozens of important questions about the state of the environment are addressed through presentations, panels, workshops, tours, and projects, where hundreds of inspiring professionals and students convene to share their knowledge. A Better World by Design is an immersive experience that aims to deepen understanding and better equip individuals with the information and skills they need to reshape their communities and environment sustainably. We’re also excited to note that key speakers will include: Jen Van der Meer, Mark Alt, Edward Mazria, Anil Gupta and Robert Fabricant!

Last year’s conference brought together over 500 attendees from six different continents, and the organizers are expecting hundreds more to attend this year. One of the major facets of this conference is the role that design plays in shaping and providing solutions for the environment. In addition to the formal program, this year’s conference will also offer two exciting social events featuring live music, organic mixology, artist demonstrations, and local food. The conference will be held from October 1st to 3rd, 2010, so if you are in Providence be sure to stop by and join this meeting of sustainably focused minds!
