A group of inspired students at theTechnical University in Delftrecently designed an interactive modular installationmade completely out of wood. Dubbed modii, the small pavilion was designed as an open script that the public could reproduce or change to make their own version or replica. Every part of the design is interchangeable and easily fixable if broken. modii’s structure is completely digitally fabricated and each and every component is unique. The pavilion consists of 96 unique cones and the structure is entirelyself-supporting. The script was created by a student Thijs van der Lely with the help of Han Feng for the Minor Interactive Environments, a multidisciplinary minor of Architecture, Industrial Design and Computer Sciences.
