The “Sand Made” collection is crafted from one of earth’s most abundant natural elements, and it's designed to
crumble back into its original form at the end of the furniture's lifecycle.
The furniture is produced using molds made from reclaimed wood.
They deploy traditional processes of ceramic manufacturing.
They can be molded into different shapes for different purposes.
The artists tried to create a personal and changing relationship between user and object.
The sand packaging revisits the act of giving and receiving gifts.
Instead of following the trends of mass production, the artists of Alien and Monkey use traditional craftsmanship and knowledge to create packaging out of sand and wood saw-dust.
They tried to bring back the story-telling aspect to the experience of opening a present.
