Alvaro Tamarit [1] has collected and repurposed an array of old books to create this awesome Bench of Thought (Banco del Pensamiento). A perfect literary space to inspire reading — or to be purely admired as a sculptural work of art [2] – the curved shape back-rest  gives this piece a modern and elegant appearance, as opposed to solid and heavy stack of stories.

The chair is structurally reinforced by wood, and with its ergonomic bend, lends to added comfort. Finished with a gloss varnish the seat is highly durable and comes with optional wooden armrests. Tamarit has also given the bench built-in wheels so it can easily be moved around.

The Spain-based designer has completed a whole range of work through the process of recycling focused on forming a pieces that mix the functional and sculptural.
