What happens when you want to build a spacious, green home on a narrow plot in an overcrowded city like Bangkok? For his own residence, managing director of design studio Apostrophy's decided to create a gorgeous vertical garden, a moonroof and an eclectic art collection that reflects his and his family's interests.
Reconciling the owner’s artistic and functional needs, Feature House boasts various experimental features such as green areas, artwork, chinoiseries, smart automated systems and a moonroof. The welcoming “triple space” functions as a void topped with a moonroof which allows natural light to reach the interior space and is controlled by an automatic system. Various oriental ornaments are merged with western traditions,-Tibetan sofa, exotic chairs and astonishing “Mega Size” table are a few examples of the eclectic nature of the interior design.
In the back of the house, a 7.5 meter-high vertical garden creates a tranquil environment. Various plant species as well as watering, lighting and fertilizing systems have been adapted to best suit this narrow space. In addition, UV lamps have been adequately placed in order for every plant to grow equally fast.
