If you're one of those people who wishes exercise equipment didn't have to be so darn ugly, then the Arceas exercise machine is bound to get your heart pumping. The brain-child of three newly-minted French designers, Yoann Legainoux, Simon Viau and Thibaut Rouganne, the Arceas is a green wall that doubles as a fitness center! Holding a series of potted plants that bring a splash of color and oxygen into the home, the unit folds up flat against the wall when not in use.
When exercise time rolls around, there are two discreet handle bars at the top of the Arceas, and another two at the base. These provide great resistant training whether standing or seated. Also, a nifty cushioned mat that looks far more comfortable than any yoga mat we’ve ever used folds out so that it’s possible to do floor exercises as well.
Although working out with the Arceas isn’t quite like going on a hike, it definitely beats the sterile equipment of old. And we especially love that it requires so little space and actually looks like a cool wall-mount when the map is folded back up. The wall panel comes in two different colors and the mat is fully customizable as well. We’re feeling inspired. How about you?
