If you work in the building industry, there are a lot of things you can help out relieve some of the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. You can donate money, building supplies or your time to Architecture For Humanity, a non-profit organization which seeks architectural solutions to humanitarian crisis and brings design services to communities in need.
For architects and architecture students displaced by Hurricane Katrina, Archinect has published an Adopt-an-Architect bulletin board – which allows architecture firms and colleges around the country to offer employment or admission to displaced architecture proffesionals and students.
If your firm has space for one or two more people, consider adding your name to the Adopt-an-Architect list.
