Argington’s Taj Chair is simple in form, highly functional, and supremely green, bringing great design to your tots’ play rooms. Designed with longevity in mind by Jenny Argie and Andrew Thornton, the chair starts at a height suitable for children between the ages of 2 to 4, with extendable legs that accommodate kids up to age 6. The materials are safe and non-toxic, so you don’t have to worry about it when your tykes start to gnaw on them.

The biggest concern most smart parents have with children’s furniture is the fact that most cheap children’s furniture has a high content of VOC’s both in the paints and sealants and in the main boards used for it’s manufacture. We are therefore pleased to see that Argington has managed to reduce the use of engineered wood products to a minimum from their furniture line. Furthermore, they are using FSC certified timber in their sourcing and making sure that their manufacturing processes reduce the waste produced. And as a final note, their finishes are non-toxic.

There’s another nice touch worthy of highlight: the chair is named after the Taj Mahal, and when purchased comes with a small handbag featuring a bit of the history to that monument. Somehow the idea of adding an educational component seems fitting.
