French student Ariane Prin developed a fantastic project while studying at London’s Royal College of Art that recycles the University’s waste into fun and colorful pencils. ‘From Here For Here’ is an experiment-based initiative that recycles materials like sawdust, flour, clay and graphite into new writing implements.

Ariane Prin creates her recycled pencils by mixing sawdust from the wood workshop and leftover flour from the canteen with clay from the ceramic division and graphite from the glass department. Once the mix is finished, she manually extrudes the compound into molds and voilà! Perfect writing pencils are born.

The pencils are on sale in London at the Mint Gallery and Dezeen space.
