We love seeing eye-catching eco art installations hit the road, so we were excited to hear that Chicago’s Art onTrack program is bringing the delicious spirit of decoration to they city’s famed elevated trains. For 5 hours on August 7th, one train will circle the central loop, its cars busting with installation, painting and performance!
The whole event is a collaboration between different galleries, curators, and artists to transform the El Train and bring art to the public. It includes a participatory fashion show by House of Frog with artwork by Stephen Desantis, Erin Cramer, Jackie Capozzoli, and the Happy Collaborationists. Previous years of Art on Track look like a combination of funhouse, playhouse, art house and party. And we don’t doubt it will be fun hopping from car to car, discovering the different spaces.

What a fantastic idea. Maybe this idea of bringing art to the people could also be applied to bringing green technology to the people somehow.
