Gallery: Haunting Images Show What Major US Cities Would Look Like if S...

Artist Nickolay Lamm of created a series of shocking images that show what eight major locations across the US could look like in a few centuries if sea levels continue to rise due to global warming. Taking his inspiration from the New York Times article What Could Disappear, Nickolay took eight well-known locations (ranging from the Thomas Jefferson Memorial to Harvard Campus and the Statue of Liberty) and figured out what they would look like it sea levels rose 25 feet.

    What nonsense! The oceans rose about half a foot in the last century and a similar amount the previous century. To rise 25 feet would take 50 centuries. Does anyone in their right mind think that the world would change that much even then given that the sun was its most active in millennia the last half of the 20th century and that the earth has not warmed in the past 16 years.
