Los Angeles-based product design and brand innovation firm Ashcroft Design has hopes to cut down on the incredible amount of waste produced by discarded tires with their innovative conceptual design for a sculptural exoskeleton made from woven recycled tires. Valued for their high abrasion resistance and excellent shock-resistance, rubber and recycled rubber have the desired qualities to protect hard drives from impact, are easy to grip, and have less buildup to heat. The design proposal depicts a beautiful honeycomb-like exoskeleton that encases the hard drive while creating the maximum amount of airflow needed to cool the drive.
