Gallery: AST 77´s Bamboo-Clad House is a Minimal, Elegant and Efficient...

AST 77 Architecten built this beautiful bamboo home that sits elegantly within Belgium´s Beukenlaan area. Immersed in a woodland environment, this bamboo home blends with the forest thanks to its vertical design and natural facade. Made from locally-sourced timber and a black steel frame that holds thousands of dried bamboo sticks, the elegant three-story home sits on a modest footprint and provides both passive heating and ventilation.

During winter times, the house is passively warmed up thanks to good insulation and sunshine, as the surrounding deciduous trees loose their leaves. During the summer, the house gets a cool green shade from the trees, while the windows allow for natural cross-ventilation on all floors.

Measuring 85 foot lenght and only 14 foot wide, this cool Belgian home features three floors fitted with minimal, elegant interior design and sliding doors that take one out into a garden which opens onto the woods. A beautiful house in the forest made from a bamboo forest, this house has another effortlessly but brilliant aspect to it, its façade changes color with the seasons.
