Built out of timber sticks of different lengths, the welcoming pavilion by Atelier Vecteur, at first glance, is no more than a simple box. But the design team added what they call an “ovoid” to the cube, creating a swirling sensation inside and a juxtaposition between two seemingly contradictory forms.
A temporary structure, the pavilion is made from natural materials that can be dismantled and re-used elsewhere. The face of it is laid with uniform vertical strips while the remainder of the cube is intersected by the bulb that juts out of the side like a giant peach pip. Although this project won’t leave our readers gasping for air, it is exciting to see young designers experimenting with both form and materials!
