Einhoven-based Ateliereen Architecten just unveiled a snazzy new adventure tower in Beldert Beach in The Netherlands. The tower will be used as a recreational structure with colorful climbing routes and numerous other sport-related features. The 20-meter-high prefab concrete structure boasts large platforms which offer fantastic views of the surrounding landscape and are reached via striking bright yellow staircases.
Holland Evenementen Groep commissioned Ateliereen Architecten to design the tower on the company’s grounds located in the central area of the Netherlands. The tower is made from prefab concrete components, which give the structure a robust quality that contrasts with colorful lightness of the stairs. The stairs wrap the building while protruding here and there and establishing a clear visual connection between the ground and the viewing platforms on the top of the structure. A 350-meter-long cable car runs from the tower and the beach and integrates the new project with the rest of the recreational activities on the site.
The tower’s fun appearance makes it a popular destination for group activities. The colorful route along its wall offers a more strenuous, but certainly more fun and healthy alternative to taking the stairs in order to reach the top.
