Audi just released the first YouTube video from its “Electric Life” series, which chronicles the daily lives of Audi’s “e-Pilots” that have been given an A3 e-tron prototype for several months. The A3 e-tron pilot program will gather information on how Audi’s new electric car performs in the real world, allowing the company to identify the challenges and opportunities facing plug-in electric vehicles.
In Audi’s first video, e-Pilot Ti Chan shows how simple it is to have an electric home charger installed in her garage. She also drives the A3 e-tron electric car over to her mom, who asks the funny question, “So this electric car… it will shock me?”
Audi’s A3 e-tron pilot program will take place in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Denver. We still have to wait about two years for the production A3 plug-in hybrid to show up in showrooms.
