Big things are happening in Sydney. First Earth Hour, which began in Sydney, went global last month. Then, the city unveiled its brand new 2030 vision, which outlines the steps that the city will take to reduce its emissions by 60%. And now, a new project planned for the outskirts of the city will become the most sustainable development in Australia. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, the new 5.8 hectare (14+ acre) development – a mix of commercial, retail, and residential space – will have contributions from none other than Pritzker Prize winners Foster + Partners and Ateliers Jean Nouvel!

Concerning the first picture, JENGA!
EMT_pete: haha!
3rd picture reminds me of CD cases. My favourite Australian city is Perth though
Looks like an old ruin left by the aztecs, I can see harrison ford running away and being chased by a giant rock.
There is a little row of convict built sandstone houses in the middle of this site that may just be in the second picture from bottom on the left, but the renderings are so whoozy with pshycodelica that I can’t quite make it out. Anyway, it’s interesting to me cause a friend of mine lived in one as a protected tenant for about 15 years at least and only just got booted out. She planted a Jacarandah tree in an old laundry fire pit at the back that was really big by the time she left. I so hope they save those cute little buildings and turn them into shops or something.
I did the Photographic Dilapidation Survey on this site, most of it was so run down…a death trap one might say, i\’m so glad they are doing this Sydney needs more room for people to live, not little shacks that are about to fall down anyway and a disused brewery.
what’s abc2 though
I heard about this last year and didn’t know it was progressing so well. Do you think that it will look as well as it is visioned? I hope so!
i LOVE it!!! its a sandwiched ‘bread’with lots n lots of veg n lettuce!!!
