In the event of a natural disaster it’s not unlikely that the power would go out. While in some areas energy can quickly be restored, in others, the long wait in the dark can become uncomfortable. Enter the LuminAID, a solar-rechargeable, inflatable lamp that packs flat and inflates to create a lightweight, waterproof lantern. Safe, sustainable and portable, the LuminAID provides six hours of continuos LED light. The designers of the lamp recently launched the “Give Light, Get Light” campaign on IndieGoGo, where supporters can pre-buy LuminAIDs for personal use, donate lights to community projects, or give the gift of light to rural schools, homes, and individuals in need.
