The Power Flower is an interactive, visual ‘living’ energy meter prototype created by two university students in Falmouth, UK. Designed as a smart energy meter to help people become more conscientious of their household power usage, the Power Flower connects wirelessly to a home’s existing energy meter and reflects energy consumption in its phototropic movements. When too much energy is being used, the flower-shaped lamp starts to die, drooping down and diminishing the light emitted, whereas low energy usage will produce a bright and healthy light.
