CCTV/Creative Control is an art installation that transforms the lower surface of the 10-storey Milton Street water tower in Brooklyn, New York into a monument that questions the appropriation of public space in the city. The exhibit, created by MetaCitizen, consists of a video projection displaying an over-sized eye onto the tower. Even though the structure is still the highest point in the area, it will soon be dwarfed by new gentrification plans, and the artist hopes that his interpretation of the iconic landmark raises questions about private control over public space.
