The Smiling Bookcase is a unique piece of furniture designed with a strong representative identity. It was developed by Han’s Designs, Naturals, Art based on the idea of designing furniture specifically for a single person household. Because people might feel lonely when they are at home alone, by surrounding themselves with ”smiling” furniture, they could in turn intensify their own feelings of happiness. The bookcase uses recycled scrap wood and colorful plastic resin in place of glue. The surface is left unfinished to give the piece a shabby-chic aesthetic.
