Designers Tõnis Kalve and Ahti Grünberg find a fresh new life for reclaimed wood in their series of “Derelict” tables and chairs. The project explores the process of establishing an equilibrium between precision and imperfection by combining industrial-scale production processes with reclaimed worn wood. The imperfect yet highly precise designs are created while carefully considering variation in colors, cracks, differences in material type, and the arrangement of materials.
