Awesome Stackable Oturakast Stools Transform Into a Cabinet in a Snap

Providing ample seating while entertaining guests can be a challenge – especially if you live in a small space and don’t have room for lots of chairs. To solve this problem, Dutch designer Rianne Koens [4] developed her Oturakast [5] series of modular stools, which can be stacked up to form a cabinet when they’re not in use. Each wooden unit features moveable legs that can be unfolded into a seat or folded up for stacking to create a custom modular cabinet. This simple yet beautiful design is a stroke of space-saving brilliance that makes the most of any tiny apartment.
Koens developed her Oturakast [5] drawers in a range of sizes, which makes them ideal for storing different items and adds visual punch when they’re stacked into a cabinet. The separate pieces can also act as steps, stools, or even ottomans. Koens recently graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven [6] cum laude and specializes in creating clean and beautiful multi-functional solutions for everyday living.
