Gallery: AZC Unveils Plans for a Giant Inflatable Trampoline Bridge in ...

There are plenty of beautiful bridges that carry cars and pedestrians across the Seine River in Paris, so awesome design firm AZC has another idea in store. Why not create a bridge dedicated to fun? Their inflatable crosswalk features enormous trampolines in the center of each of the three rings for people to bounce and flip their way over the water. With their eyes set on a strip near the Bir-Hakeim bridge, AZC wants their blow-up bridge to be a place where anyone can engage with their surroundings, and experience Paris like never before.

The three 30-meter-round inflatable modules are held together with a cord to form a self-supporting structure. Under the right amount of tension, each circle’s sides flip up, keeping Parisian bouncers at play from flopping into the river. Trampoline mesh is stretched along the inside of each ring, and floats above the water, where participants can enjoy the Seine without dipping into it. This super fun idea is not only more sustainable and environmentally friendly than the construction of a new bridge, but also allows for a new and exciting break from the city’s daily grind.

Im an inventor of trampoline arenas and this one looks really stupid. Looks like everybody is in danger of being knocked unconscious and left to drown… Oh yeah and losing their phones in the water. lol

It’s a good idea – hopefully the designer is thinking about that!

what about the priority to give way to the disabled? is there a way for them to get through the other side of the bridge?

Excuse me but, this is an April Fool, right?

dozens of people bouncing around uncontrolled with lots of stones, trash, dirt, and no net preventing them from launching in to the river.

    Sounds safe enough :)

Designed by Phineas and Ferb, no doubt.

OMG! What a horrible idea. Is anyone reading this aware that trampoline accidents cause more serious spinal injuries every year than ATV accidents? Dozens of people bouncing past each other simultaneously would be great for an entire episode of “1000 Ways To Die”, (yes there is such a show). Is this a celebration of bad design? Yikes.
