Space management just got extremely inventive with Studio_o1's Barcode Room ^[6]. Commissioned by the Japanese real estate company Able, the award-winning concept features twelve different "bars" or walls that can be configured in multiple combinations to either save or occupy space.

The twelve bars include a kitchen bar, a sleeping bar and a living bar that together create a customizable space that changes with the occupants’ daily needs. Furniture and storage is built into each of these simple wooden structures, creating the ultimate modular apartment for urbanites ^[7].

Showcasing the remarkable flexibility ^[8] created by these sliding partitions, Studio_01 posted images of a lunch room, a meeting room, a double bed room and a cooking party room. In addition to saving space and materials, the designers have catered to the ADD generation that is so quickly bored with same old, same old.
