We completely fell in love with Ryall Porter Sheridan's Red House -- not only for its striking façade, but also for its modern yet rustic design. Bright and open inside, this redskin dwelling brings a pop of color to a woodsy landscape in upstate New York, without impacting too much on its natural environment.
Located beside a small lake in Upstate New York, the striking Red House is topped with a sloping roof that accentuates its geometrical design. Built from standard materials and basic construction techniques, the home’s randomly placed windows bring natural light into every corner. Its stepped entrance is completed with a porch that allows residents to make the most of the forest breeze and views.
Featuring a double-height main floor that shelters a living, dining and cooking area, the house has two additional rooms and a bathroom on the upper floor. A custom-made bookshelf makes the best out of the height, holding thousands of books exposed within a woodsy background. A modern refuge, this Red House makes it easy to enjoy the simple life in nature.
