Casa Kids introduces new murphy bed for adults at BKLYN Designs 2015

Casa Kids' line of thoughtful, eco-friendly children's furnishings have helped them make a name for themselves in Brooklyn and beyond, and now they're ready to bring that same functionality to the world of adult furniture. Founded by designer Roberto Gil, the Brooklyn-based brand has been a go-to resource for families raising little ones in compact, urban-scale homes. With the success of its transforming and modular designs, the company is now branching out with a new adult-size Murphy bed, which it just debuted at this year's BKLYN Designs furniture fair in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Roberto Gil has been designing and building furniture in his Brooklyn workshop for over 20 years, and is a BKLYN Designs veteran. His award-winning, modular pieces are popular with urban parents because of the clever way they grow with kids from infancy to the time they're teens. In addition to reducing waste by adapting and by eliminating the need to buy new furniture every few years, all Casa Kids pieces are made in Brooklyn using domestic, formaldehyde-free walnut plywood.

"At Casa Kids, being good to the kids we serve also means being kind to the planet they call home," says Gil. "We only use wood that has been harvested through sustainable practices and all of our products are made locally, eliminating the environmental impact implicit in shipping. Our furniture is also modular and highly adaptive, so it remains with the families we service for years. This dramatically reduces waste and promotes sustainability in terms of our planet’s natural resources."
