Bruno Dussert-Vidalet and Alessandro Dolcetta turn light into emotion with their new lighting company, Blackbody [2]. Presenting for the first time at Euroluce [3] during Milan Design Week [4] earlier this month, Blackbody incorporates works from designers across the globe, including a piece called “Bonzai” designed by Italian architect and designer Aldo Cibic, and “Bell family” designed by French designer Thierry Gaugain. The lamps are designed to be long-lasting (14,000 hours life), ultra flat (2 mm thickness), glare-free, heat-free, and 100% recyclable through the use of luminous OLEDs [5]. More than simple lamps, Blackbody’s multi-faceted forms allow architects and designers to explore innovative and personalized approaches to application.
