BMW Unveils Recyclable Eco Subway Cars for Poland
Posted By Ariel Schwartz On December 1, 2010 @ 3:30 pm In Green Transportation | No Comments
Think public transportation [5] isn’t sexy? What about if BMW designs your city’s subway system? The luxury auto maker did just that in Poland, where it plans to launch the Inspiro subway [6] car. Created by BMW’s DesignworksUSA team, the Inspiro features an energy-efficient lightweight aluminum [7] chassis that is 97.5% recyclable, a vast interior, tree branch-shaped handholds and plenty of room for maps and other relevant information.
The subway [9] cars will go online in the Metro Warszawskie system in 2012. We just have one question: when will BMW spread the subway car love to other major city centers? We can think of more than a few places in need of a public transportation upgrade.
