Gallery: Bold Design Transforms a Tiny Rooftop Machine Room Into a Mode...

This design reveals some of the best space management we've seen in a long time!

Despite having only 17 square meters to work with, Boujon and Benayoun have set a new record for space management by generating more than adequate space to work and store important tools in what was once the home of a lift motor. In addition to shelves that line the wall above their shared desk, further storage and even a 2 meter long foam seat that is perfect for both resting and brainstorming are concealed beneath a cheeky trap door. This office also comes complete with a large whiteboard and an industrial lamp to make up for the lack of daylighting (even so, this project’s energy footprint is obviously extremely small).

This inspiring DIY renovation project submitted by Bold Design to our friends over at Designboom is part of a very definitive shift away from the bigger is better model of working and living to smaller, more efficient work spaces that can be inserted into gardens, warehouses, and, apparently, even rooftops.
