Gallery: BRC Designs’ Wingin’ It LED Floor Lamp is Made From Recycled P...

After collecting the pieces of wood planks, taken from the back end of the dusty piano keys, designer Benjamin Rollins Caldwell then transformed all the pieces into a quirky and haphazard lamp structure that sticks out at all angles, held together using nuts and bolts.

BRC Designs has a knack for creating furniture from recycled materials – and the studio’s latest project is a lamp made almost entirely from repurposed piano keys! The Wingin’ It Floor Lamp is made from an assortment of wood pieces salvaged from a dusty piano keyboard. The lamp is held together using nuts and bolts, and it lights up with 15 LED bulbs that consume less energy than a single 70 watt incandescent.

BRC Designs‘ one-off Wingin’ It Floor Lamp stands five and a half feet tall. It was handmade in South Carolina, and it’s part of a larger Wingin’ It Collection that includes a bed, a table and a side table. The lamp expands upon BRC’s equally cool Korobeiniki Chair and Hammer Chair, which are constructed from piano keys and hammers.
