Gallery: Breaking News: Nissan LEAF Struggles with Start Failures


The 2011 Nissan LEAF has hit a rough patch: owners on have been reporting recently that the vehicle will not restart under certain circumstances. After using the car’s air conditioning system, some LEAF vehicles display the power steering, battery, and vehicle warning lights while the car continues to run. If the driver turns off the vehicle at that point to restart, the vehicle will not re-engage its Ready mode, and it will need to be towed to the dealer. What’s a LEAF owner to do?

    What? No CTRL-ALT-DEL key sequence to reboot one’s car?

    I just love that word….failure. It’s not something you’d expect. Do they even bother to test these things when they put them out on the market. This may simply be a software problem.
