Brett Coelho Recycles Old Street Signs Into Colorful Pendant Lamps

Artist Brett Coelho [4] has transformed common street signs [5] into a series of clever “Speed” pendant lamps. Bold, bright and colorful, his dazzling recycled light fixtures are classic pieces with an urban edge, able to turn any drab space into a revved-up room.

Cohelo [4]‘s lamps take organic forms – they look like floral blooms turned upside down. The letters and numbers of the original sign add a bit of urban edge to the lamps, adorning the petal-like shades. Not only are the pieces beautiful and suited for just about any interior, but they prove that reuse is a trend moving full-speed ahead.
Coelho has been created decor for the past ten years made largely from found objects.
