I'm one of three co-founders of ioby.org, founded in NYC in 2008, and operating since 2009, whose name also comes from the opposite of NIMBY. During out NYC pilot, we saw the full funding of nearly 200 citizen-led, neighbor-funded local civic projects. Interesting piece.
