Each piece was created using a single simple fold that is repeated and expanded with new shapes through a few stitches of thread, giving a new dimension to the art of folding.

We first encountered Bekx Stephens’ beautiful origami sculptures at last year’s New Designers Show in London. With a fresh degree in crafts from the University of Derby under her arm, the artist said she has been folding for just over a year. Stephens works with paper‘s natural properties and she says that she never attempts to ‘pre-plan or try to predict what might happen when starting a piece’.
