Gallery: British Artist Bekx Stephens ...

British artist Bekx Stephens creates gorgeous three-dimensional sculptures by folding simple sheets of paper into complex forms. Working with just acid-free paper and thread, she creates intricate artworks that draw from her natural talent and her connection to the art of origami. After searching for a low-impact material to work with, she settled on acid-free paper - a simple, biodegradable, and recyclable material with lots of potential!

We first encountered Bekx Stephens’ beautiful origami sculptures at last year’s New Designers Show in London. With a fresh degree in crafts from the University of Derby under her arm, the artist said she has been folding for just over a year. Stephens works with paper‘s natural properties and she says that she never attempts to ‘pre-plan or try to predict what might happen when starting a piece’.
