FabCab has a line of four different models ranging in size from a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom home at 550 sq ft up to a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home at 1,337 sq ft. The homes are built from renewable and sustainably-harvested Douglas Fir, and use less wood than conventional stud framing. Pre-cut SIPs (R24 walls, R40 roof) are used on the walls and double-glazed windows provide a large daylighting source for the interior. All the materials are digitally cut in order to reduce wastage. The kit includes the building envelope, windows, doors, siding, flooring, kitchen cabinets, appliances, tiling, all electrical, mechanical, lighting and plumbing. The only things not included in the kit are the foundation, permits and someone to build the home onsite.
Their most recent project is the two-story custom FabCab on Camano Island. This home is 1,600 sq ft and includes bamboo flooring, non-slip cork tile bathroom flooring, recycled-content countertops, low VOC paints and finishes, anti-microbial glaze on tiles and fixtures and water efficient fixtures.
