Casa el Pangue: Stunning Terraced Home Overlooks the Pacific Ocean in Chile

Elton + Léniz [8] designed Casa el Pangue [6] to follow the natural course of a steep slope in Chile. The designers terraced every level with the volumes of the building so that each tier faces out to sea and is connected by a series of dramatic staircases. The main walkway from the lowest level car park is a rising staircase that ascends out from under a balcony.
The spectacular view of the Pacific draws residents to the windows, taking full advantage of the home’s site. From the living room, the home extends out towards a large terrace which is surrounded by planters. All of the family rooms and living areas are arranged around this design to create a dynamic sense of space.
