The Transaction Proscessing Performance Council is building a benchmark to authentically measure the power consumption of a computer. Perhaps CherryPal should check it out.

You are better off buying a used laptop and putting linux on it. Better because:
Battery power, functional without net access, built in screen, and best of all no monthly fees or proprietary isp requirement.

Um, I’m sorry to say this, but the only good thing about this “personal computer” is that it uses 10W of power although considering it will require some unnamed server(s) to operate, that 10W could turn out to be only a fraction of the real energy usage.

Otherwise it’s an ridiculously underspecced and overpriced piece of garbage. Not to mention that since what you see on the picture is a render, it probably is and will always remain vaporware..

For $500-$600 you can buy a real computer that will actually run applications you want to use, like EeePC or a Mac Mini. Seriously, Inhabitat, you embarrass me.

These will not satisfy gamers, however – these are great replacements for browsing/email/word processing, but not high-resolution gaming. The energy-conscious gamer should use a console with an low-wattage monitor or television.
