The weather may be warming up, but East Coasters won’t want to put away their earmuffs just yet. According to entomologists, billions of cicadas that have been underground for 17 years will be emerging from their burrows and noisily swarming the eastern seaboard from North Carolina to Connecticut. The so-called “Cicadapocolypse” could even be as loud as the sound of a New York City train, but otherwise isn’t expected to be much more than a nuisance.
