Gallery: CLINTON LIBRARY GETS LEED PLA...

Gracing the river front of Little Rock, the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum has just been been awarded a LEED Platinum rating after a recent round of “back to the drawing board” upgrades to the building. The green features that tipped the scales from the previously held LEED Silver rating to Platinum include more thorough green cleaning and recycling programs, climate-neutral and energy efficiency strategies, water-wise landscaping and a green roof.

While the Clinton Library received Silver Certification under the USGBC’s LEED-NC program in 2004, LEED-EB provides a framework for achieving green improvements in all existing commercial buildings. Buildings certified under the LEED-NC program can also continually improve environmental performance by seeking LEED-EB re-certification.

The Polshek Partnership-designed building went Platinum thanks to a collaboration with The Leonardo Academy, the Rocky Mountain Institute, and Powers of Arkansas.
