This week the College of Wooster in northeast Ohio announced plans to install a 20,000-square-foot solar roof – the largest on any college facility in the nation – on its new student athletic and recreation center, set to open in January 2012. The solar installation will generate 271,000 kilowatt hours per year – enough to fully power one of the college’s residence halls.
