Ever wondered how what happens to the thousands of personal objects confiscated at airport terminals around the world? Sculptor Christopher Locke has embarked on a project to give some of these items a second life. Locke transforms small scissors banned from flights by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) into these frightening spiders that look like they belong in an animated horror movie!

Saving the scissors from going straight to the trash, Locke creates these unique and quirky designs using solely the recycled objects. A graduate from George Washington University, Locke says each piece is one-of-a-kind and part of an ongoing project called ‘Heartless Machine’. We can’t wait to see the next terrifying creature he comes up with!
